[SOLVED] Backup Exec 15 removal

Hi all,

I restored a server using Backup Exec 15. Everything works apart from backup Exec 15 itself.

There are only a few remnants of Backup Exec 15 in Program Files/the registry which mean that the program does not run, repair, uninstall or reinstall.

There is mention in various places of a batch file from Veritas/Symantec support to delete all the traces which will allow a fresh install. Does anyone have it?! Ta

Did you try this? http://www.thewindowsclub.com/cannot-install-uninstall-programs-windows-7 it actually works sometimes.

Many thanks for the suggestions. I hadn't come across Revo before. The MSI installer package and most of the Program files for Backup Exec were missing so I assume those tools might have struggled..

In the mean time before seeing these suggestions I searched through registry and deleted keys for Symantec by searching "\symantec\". After deleting about 50 keys I was able to install Backup Exec 15 again.
