Sure it is even though is "warmer" than Kanata. At least for me living in Tampico, Mexico. And I thought the -2F (-18C) we reached last night/this morning was cold.
Some of us, especially the people in the far north. I felt for the people of Nipawin, SK, where the windchill was -40C to -45C yesterday and road travel was discouraged. It's mind-boggling to zoom down to many arctic communities on Google Earth and see communities of houses like you find in the south, except that they get weather like this most of the winter. Those people are tough! You Kanucks are made of tough stuff, boy. I think I would be whimpering in front of the fireplace at that temperature.
We had a bout of Freezing Rain here recently and I had to climb into the drivers seat from the passengers side door as it was the only one I could get open. The locks literally froze up, still couldn't get out after a 45min drive. Its 4 F here in Indiana.
I have to laugh sometimes as some people will take their car thru a auto car wash because its "dirty" with salt and such on it. Then no more windows and opening doors!lol..
I remember wearing shorts one day walking to school when it was about 10 degrees Fahrenheit. My legs looked like red Popsicles and my thighs burned as soon as I got inside to a heated classroom. I put too much stock in my Irish blood that day, and so I never did it again.Ah well, time to put a sweater on, and finally swap the shorts for jeans..
