Hello All,

I can finally launch my PC Repair business and I have almost finished my business plan. I have a meeting with the local business startup place that will transition me from Job Seekers Allowance to a newstart business allowance giving me 50gbp for the first 3 months to help me get started.

Anyway, my business plan is fairly solid so far and is based around a template I found so it is in the right layout and whatnot.

I was wondering though does anyone have any misc advice in regards to this such as justifying my target audience which is stated as home users untill the business gains a reputation and then eventually small and medium business users.

I was also wondering if anyone can provide me with any general statistics for britain or world wide such as growth in computers being purchased and home users etc.

Apparently the business place decides if im worthy of this which to me seems a bit silly as ill be getting less then on job seekers and could potentially make some money and a successful business.

Thanks.

It's really hard to walk into the computer repair industry and expect all the statistics to guarantee you a certain client base when just starting out. This industry is so dynamic that you could have a load of 50 potential clients one day and the next they already have someone else doing work for them.

Here's the best advice I can give: jump in and get your feet wet. Try some various advertising routes. Try reaching out to a few target market areas in your locale. There is no one trick pony to this business, and certainly, even the most well thought out business plan will not prepare you for what may come of your business 6-12 months down the line.

I never wrote a business plan before getting my business going as I have established everything that my business has by word of mouth and plain hard work. I know this doesn't work for everyone, and I know you are doing this to satisfy the demands of what seems to be a startup broker, but I think a majority of users would say the same.

+1 ^^^^^^ for this
I have tried many different types of advertising and good work provides word of mouth which is invaluable and the best advert there is, you could try and show this on your plan. The buisness startup people will already know this, so maybe just seeing you state it in black and white will satisfy their needs.

no business plan can be 100% accurate. Thus youi are going to be going by guestimates for you financial forcast part.

As for those who have never done a business plan (especially under 10 people companies).. why havent you?

there is no reason for any company not to do a business plan as it helps focus the mind and helps you define the scope, stategies and way forward for the business and not go off on random tangents.
