I have 6 people and 14 computers that i need to prioritize packets for gaming i need to control who gets what and so on, the software would have to be able to run on xp pro.

The amount of control does not seems to be what i am looking for more of bandwidth shaping need to put kids on low priority for any upload they are doing.

Untangle seems like it blocks ALL or nothing there are some websites i would like the adult computers to access but all kids block.

Is there anything else out there that runs in xp pro? the important parts of untangle are pay, wonder if there is anything out there that just does packet managment and is VERY light and free.
The important parts that i need in untangle will cost 1080 bucks a year.

Have you looked to see if their router does QoS? Depending on the hardware they're running, you may already be able to correct your problem.

The router is a gaming router i don't think gamefuel is set up properly they play everquest and everquest 2 i read the manual its confusing on how to set up gamefuel rules for both games.

dlink dgl 4300

That router has pretty good QOS (the game fuel settings). Once it's set up properly, you should be able to prioritize the traffic pretty well. I wouldn't use the default game settings. Find out what ports your games use and prioritize those.

I did test untangle for windows it does block porn sites, malware sites and viruses as well as manual blacklist sites and games but it seems all it does is block it seems to do that well.

Problem is there does not seem to be a way to block by mac address it just blocks everything on the network.

And the important parts are not free and very expensive if you have over a dozen machines in one house the cost is over a thousand.
