I got an email from a salesman at Servosity. The product sounds good (from their website), but does anyone have any experience with them and can provide some feedback?

I know of them....unfortunately.

Good luck...I have made several request to be removed from their mailing list yet Mr. Jeff Hammer still sent the same freakin' email once or twice a week without fail. Responding to his email and asking to be removed from the list didn't get my point across so I called Jeff Hammer directly and made my request over the phone...that didn't work either so I simply blocked ALL emails from servosity.com. Unbelievably, that only made things worse and the idiot started calling me every couple of weeks.

I had to go to their site, call the 800 number and threaten to report them to the State's Attorney Generals Office to get this moron to stop calling me.....

Acrbo

I think he is getting the email addresses from the members of ACRBO. I accidentally set up two accounts with ACRBO and I received two emails from him today. I wonder if ACRBO knows that this is happening, if this is the case that this guy is doing.

No I am not aware this is happening. If you setup 2 accounts did you use different email addresses for each? I am just wondering how he would of known the 2 email addresses to send to.....

If you don't mind forward me the email he sent you and I will check it out. You can send to dan AT acrbo.com

thks

I watched their presentation and tried their demo today. The current version seems to me to be not quite as user friendly as Nine's offering, which I'm pretty impressed by.

Servosity is touting their upcoming release though that sounds impressive. Network, bare-metal backups using StorageCraft's technology, subscription pricing, an unlimited storage consumer option... They say it should be out in the next 1-2 months. Who hasn't heard that from a software company, I know, but if it happens it sounds worth looking at again.

It might just be a coincidence, but I'm also an ACRBO member so it is possible those guys are getting email address from the ACRBO company listings....it has happened before.

If this is the case...it I do not see that there is much that the ACRBO staff can actually do about it. After all...those listing are intended as a form of advertising and available to the public same as they are on our individual websites, phone books, business cards and so on.

A minor annoyance from the occasional spammer is just part of the cost of doing business...and absolutely beyond ACRBO's control.
