made by Nucleas Technologies? I bought it to recover email from an OST left over from when they had Exchange. I found that the PST created could not be opened in Outlook 2010. The bench machine I ran it on had Outlook 2016, and the PST it created opened fine in Outlook 2016. When I copied the PST to the customer's computer with Outlook 2010 on it, the file wouldn't open. "requested operation could not be completed" - no error number or anything to research. I ran scanpst on it (from the customer's machine, which completed without error), but no dice. Opened an email support ticket but it's been 24 hrs and no response so far.

Ultimately, I temporarily installed Outlook 2016 on the customer's machine and it works ok, so I'm guessing that either:

- the version of Outlook on the machine that does the recovery locks you into that version for the recovered file, or

- The program itself creates PST files only openable in Outlook 2016.

Does anyone use this program enough to know which one it is? I'd like to know in case I ever have to use this again - I can tell the customer upfront that they'll need Outlook 2016...

I'd be curious if you do an export from 2016 it the new PST would work in 2010?

No, tried that. I couldn't spin my wheels any longer so we told him he had to buy Outlook 2016 - he did, it works, got paid. Still want to know the answer, though. I'm not exactly thrilled with their support, but the program was less than a hundred bucks, so I'm not expecting white gloves or anything.
