Any good local source for UPS batteries?

A few times a year I will get a distress call that turns out to be a failed battery in a UPS unit. Of course, most of these things have different form factor batteries (although I try to standardize the ones that I sell.) Does anyone know a good local source that carries a few sizes of 12v batteries? It would be nice to know I could drive somewhere and pick them up same day.

APC used to be based in Rhode Island, one of the early Warwick exits from I95. Like 35 minute drive for me...so prolly ~2 hours for you?. Years ago even went there to pick some things at the factory outlet store they had (not emergency runs, just good deals in the factory outlet store)
But since they sold to Schneider...dunno..haven't been there. Tried looking at the new website, found a link to an outlet store but it won't come up.

Thanks Brian. Actually, I just got off the phone with Interstate Batteries. They're about 20 minutes away from me. I'll head over there and see what they got!

There's a battery place here who carries those types but I'm sure it's too far away to be practical. Even if Interstate does not have them local I'd bet they are just a day away getting from a warehouse.

Thank you Mark, I ended up picking them up from Interstate Batteries in Bridgeport, CT. They're about 25 minutes away so it was a no-brainer for me. Price was a lot cheaper than it would have been to order online and ship as well! I'm glad I found out about them, as now I know where to go for UPS batteries.

D&H (In Canada) carries numerous APC battery cartridges.
They have 'will call pick-ups'
Perhaps, in the US also?

I suspect they're regional, but in my area it's Batteries Plus (or now Batteries+Bulbs or something like that) that carries a very wide assortment of battery sizes. Check into opening a business account with your local store(s), you may find a fairly significant discount. Prices are noticeably higher than the cheapest options ordering online, but sometimes it's hard to beat convenience.
