An Alternative to Search Everything?

Hi guys,

I love the speed of the Search Everything Engine, but require a similar application, that will also search through RAR/ZIP (or any archive) as well..


Does anyone have any suggestions?

Very slow.. Lol.. Didn't find my file after 10mins of searching, and going through 45K folders (i guess that number includes archive files too).\\

If it finds a file, it lets u know it has, but still continues searching; without displaying results on the fly.

There is a portable version which is good, but i don't think its what I'm looking for.

Currently using x1 but it's not free and runs a few processes but very fast search

I have a client that uses X1 and they love it. Once it does the index of your drives its very impressive as to what it can search. Now if there is another alternitive id love to hear about...

A quick review..

By default, the search inside archives is not set by default. Easily changed in settings. First time running it, it took approx 5 mins (I went out for a smoke during its scan) and let it built its database. Tried the same search again, and it was lighting quick.. Tried a different search, and it was lightning quick.

On a personal level, this might replace Search Everything. But using it on clients computers, searching for particular things, I might stick with Search Everything, as it is faster right off the bat without building its database (personal opinion after quick test)

it indexes everything, so its about 2 seconds response time for what your searching for.
