If any of you shop on Amazon and have not yet setup a charity through Amazon Smile, I've got one for you! It's super easy to setup. Once setup you just go to smile.amazon.com instead of amazon.com and a percentage of your purchases will go to the organization. Nothing to lose!

First Friends Respite Center

Mission: First Friends Provides Care And Socialization For The Elderly In A Daycare Setting, Specializing In Alzheimer's Disease And Other Dementias; Providing Repsite And Support For Caregivers; Provide Education And Demntia Counseling For Communities.

My grandfather passed away some time ago after a decade long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. While he was still with us, my grandmother, who is now 83, took care of him day in and day out. She started First Friends in her small town so that she could have a place to bring him for socialization and to help other people in her same situation.

My grandmother continues to run the organization to this day. It's nothing big or fancy, but for the handful of people that she reaches, it means the world. She's an incredible woman.

Go to smile.amazon.com and search "First Friends Respite Center" located in Amory, MS, USA

If you sign-up, make a post and let me know. I'd love to share it with my grandmother.

Also, if you prefer to use a different charity, go for it! Help anyone you can. Thanks!

Will do, the shallow wishes of kids with cancer will have to do without my donation....i'm just kidding I never use that smile thing but I did set it up so i'll try to keep using it.

I have been using smile for some time myself but not all purchases qualify for smile donations and it is 0.5% but still with the volume of business Amazon does that adds up. I contribute to an animal rescue myself and barely any donations as I haven't used Amazon much since I found out about smile roughly 2 or 3 years ago been too broke. I really wish they made it automatic instead of a separate site as well I wish it would work for rentals or digital purchases done via the apps on TVs, Blu-Ray Players, etc.

It took me a while to get used to it, but now my brain defaults to it when going to Amazon. I bookmarked it and got the toolbar a couple of years ago which helped me get used to it.

It definitely adds up! My Grandmother's charity has received nearly $700 from Amazon in about two years of being signed up. That's a nice chunk of change for a tiny charity!

I've used Amazon smile for years...my two charities of choice have been a rabbit rescue and education group, and a local anti-nuke group. I don't know why everyone doesn't use it! It's absolutely painless and costs you nothing.

I have chive charities set up on my smile account. They help out a lot of different medical issues mostly children. Smile is amazing I wish more people would use it.
