We primarily use netbooks for our field laptops. Good compromise between functionality and weight for lugging around. We max them out on RAM and put in an SSD - they are very usable. Of course, they don't really make netbooks anymore, and I'm not keen on spending ultrabook money since they get beat up quite a bit.
I recently bought a replacement for one that took a bad fall and broke a hinge. It's a Dell Latitude 2100, standard netbook fare, 2 gigs of RAM, Atom processor, etc. Looked in pretty good shape, $100 out the door. I'd have bought 2 at that price.
It arrives, and fires right up. Passed hardware tests so it's ready for the new parts. Booting it up, though I notice Windows 7 Pro on it - hmmm. I check and sure enough there is an SLP key on it. Of course the sticker on the bottom is for Vista Business, as expected for a unit of this vintage. Also, Office 2010 Pro Plus with a cracked key. Hey, such a deal I got!!
I swear, folks will never learn (he said, as he tossed the disk in the trash and fitted a new SSD).
