We just got word from one of our readers that ZoneAlarm Forcefield will be free for this Tuesay (August 12th) at 6am PST. Normally Forcefield costs $29.99 to purchase which includes a years worth of subscription updates. The offer is valid for 24 hours after the launch.
For those of you who dont know what it is, ZoneAlarm Forcefield is a virtualization system that isolates your browser from the computer. If your browser did fall victim to an exploit or you are tricked into opening something you shouldnt, your computer is safe because the malware cannot touch your computers actual files or registry items.
ZAFF also attempts to stop sites from stealing your personal information. While in this virtualization “bubble”, ZAFF includes technology to jam keyloggers and block programs that snatch screenshots while you are surfing.
To download ZoneAlarm Forcefield, goto the following site on August 12th after 6am PST:

Edit: Offer is now available for download. You might want to use a service like 10MinuteMail.com because it requires you to enter an email address so they can “periodically send you promotional offers”.
Special thanks to Gary for letting us know about this. If anyone else hears about similar freebies they would like to share with the Technibble community, please email us via our contact form.

Freaking sweet news. Thanks.
Is this a genuine virtualization (sandbox/jail) or does it just ’shim’ in between and pre-processes requests?.
I keep reading on how it is a cpu “vampire” and will kill your pc performance. I don’t mind losing 5%-10% perf but if it kills my machine then it is useless to me. Do some google or yahoo searches on “zonealarm forcefield review” and see all the complaints.
How much of this is already available in the myriad of apps we already install to protect us ?. Just don’t want to waste time with a new app that really is just a repackaging of what we already have.
Just check the site. Seems I’m earlier…Must come back later. Thanks for the info.
It is now 8/12/2008, 10:20a EDT, or 7:20a PDT, and the offer is not available. Is this just a way to create traffic and buzz without living up to the promise of free software?
Its up and running Now
I just got mine
Thanks for the Tip
Awesome. This is a definite download. Thanks for the heads up.
Only works with IE it seems…
Look at how much memory this thing eats- Sandboxie a much lighter alternative. I got rid of it quickly.
Had to test it further. Memory use diminished favorably after use, 1ess than 8,000k all told. Blocks some Firefox add-ons so needs tweaking. But stable and easy to take otherwise.
