Windows XP operating systems will continue to be released by Microsoft until June 2010. However, this only applies to ULCPCs which stands for ultra-low-cost PCs. One of these ULCPCs is the ASUS Eee.
The article at pcmag.com notes that the machines have smaller screens and less processing power than regular desktops or laptops so it makes more sense that Windows XP is installed on those systems rather than Windows Vista.
Michael Dix of Microsoft said that, for XP, “mainstream technical support will continue to be available until April 2009…”

The article is a little misleading with the extended support information. The extended support mentioned in the last line of the article ONLY applies to XP Professional. Microsoft only offers
I agree with JM. The only thing people expect from microsoft is patches. If your a business you can call and get help for a specific issue, but no one calls MS for basic computer support.
