A news report has been released that Eee PCs, which will come with Windows XP preinstalled, will be available to be bought by consumers later this month. There is no price yet for this upgraded product but it will be higher than its current price of $499.
The OS and Office suite will run from a 2 GB SD card according to an article at apcmag.com.
“We are hard at work on the project here, and we are using an approach that is a little unusual for Microsoft in that we are managing the entire process of adapting and testing an existing version of Windows for a new PC,” said James Utzschneider, who is the head of Marketing and Communications for Microsoft, in his blog.

That source is far from credible , they can not even post a correct picture of the Eee with XP installed on it , the picture they show mid-article is a GREEN PC far from what the article is about , besides the Green Pc does not even compare and any true Geek knows it is not very hard to install XP onto a Eee anyways… just a FYI
Other websites also reported this news so it’s probably true.
Big fan of the Eee PC looks like a very useful gadget and very handy to take away with you on trips where a regular laptop is too cumbersome.
