Windows 7′s XP Mode

The release candidate (RC) version of Windows 7′s XP mode has been unveiled on tuesday, August 4.

“Windows XP Mode provides what we like to call that ‘last mile’ compatibility technology for those cases when a Windows XP productivity application isn’t compatible with Windows 7,” said Brandon LeBlanc of Microsoft.

The improvements and changes in the RC version include the ability to attach USB devices from the taskbar of Windows 7 to Windows XP mode. Also, it allows users to disable drive sharing between the two modes.
