The Acer U.K. managing director said the company will sell computers powered by Windows 7 starting on October 23. He said, “23 October is the date Windows 7 will be available.” He also mentioned that a 30-day upgrade program will be launched by Microsoft.
There are no other signs that the development of Microsoft’s next operating system is ahead of schedule beyond blog reports according to the article at Information Week.
Windows Vista launched in the first month of 2007 and the company said that Windows 7 will be available approximately three years later.

Windows 7 will hopefully prove to be the operating system that Windows Vista never was. I for one will stick to my trusty XP for as long as possible, and will migrate to the latest version of Linux when the time does come around to upgrade….eventually!
