The free preview version of Microsoft’s latest consumer operating system Windows 7 will run out next month.
Users will need to upgrade to the full version of the product by March 1. If a user does not upgrade, his or her machine will automatically shut down every two hours.
“To avoid any data loss, I suggest making plans to move to a released version of Windows 7 before the automatic shutdowns start,” said a Microsoft spokesman.
“During these shutdowns, your work will not be saved,” he added.
