Hardware vendors can now get the graphics drivers for Windows 7 according to an article at Information Week. The driver is called WDDM1.1 and it Intel said that it is designed for “enabling the full Windows 7 experience.”
“As a result of the collaboration, OEMs and beta users can stay in step with Windows 7 prereleases for smooth product development,” the company added.
The article notes that when Vista was launched last year, numerous hardware makers did not have fully compatible drivers to work on. Therefore, Microsoft ordered hardware makers as well as computer makers to test their devices/systems as soon as the first beta version of the next Windows operating system is available.
