There is a news that circulated recently about an early release of Windows 7. The official date is October 22 but a system builder posted a note on its website that the operating system will begin to ship as early as October 13.
“…while in theory a system builder could get Windows 7 product pre-GA [general availability], based on supply chain analysis, the intended timing for customers to receive Windows 7 PCs from System Builders should be close to GA, October 22,” said a Microsoft spokesman.

Hopefully they don’t release it before it’s ready like they did with Vista.
I already have it at our company. It shipped a week ago.
