Unless you make your business specializing in repairing laptops. The average computer technician should avoid working on them; here is why.
You generally cannot work on laptops effectively unless you have a large supply of parts, a lot of documentation and experience working with them. Parts are usually difficult to obtain, difficult to return and are expensive.
The laptop cases keep changing, they are often hard to figure out and the very fragile. Most laptops are difficult to take apart, difficult put back together again and difficult not to break them while you are doing it.
If you do decide to repair one, you need a large supplier or a large shop that specializes in laptops just to get the parts which are nearly always overpriced. For your clients, in the event their laptop has a bad motherboard or something similar, the chances are that the laptop is beyond economical repair anyway.
If you keep getting clients who want you to repair their laptops you may find outself being forced to either expand your business into repairing laptops or turn down business. You can expand your business and use contracts and strategic relationships with businesses that do specialise in repairing the laptops.
If you dont specialise in laptop repairs, either get someone else who does or dont take them on.
