Dear Microsoft, I consider that Windows 7 must be gratis for people have Vista.
Is it necessary to explain why ?

I didn’t know Vista Win7 FORCED updates and that about the Intel chip and software…. do you have the source of that information?

It doesn’t affect me since I use Linux (and encourage others to do the same, which I think many people will start doing in light of Vista/Win 7), however for the people that won’t and persist in using Windows, I’d like to know more about the above Intel/software Vista/Win7/Forced upgrades deals.

after using vista and the new windows 7 and seeing the “trusted computing” aspects of microsoft OS, XP and linux will be my choice. I find the ability of both vista and the new win7 to report back to microsoft and force updates regardless of the users parameters disgraceful. The new intel chip that will decide what software we can and can’t use is big brother at its worst.

IMHO, which is worth nothing to Microsoft, is that MS should give FREE (without cost) upgrades to Windows Vista version 2 (I mean Windows 7). There are fewer upgrades from Vista to Win7 than there were from Windows XP SP1 to SP2, at least at the user interface level.

Lucky me, I skipped that sorry excuse for an OS altogether and will be using Windows 7 and OS X.

I believe the root of the problem begins with the multiple levels of an OS being offered. I can see a practical need for only three versions of an OS, a Lite, Standard and Enterprise. The lite edition for netbooks or tablets, a standard for most users and a Enterprise edition for those needing a domain capable OS. I could possibly see where an Ultimate edition could be viable and even for the $299 price if it also included unlimited US based tech support. The Ultimate would be cost effective for small businesses that do not have a dedicated IT department. In the OS’s current configuration there is nothing ultimate about it.
