I actually needed tech support from MS for only the second time ever. I got an answer via email the next day for my fairly extreme problem I had on 1 of 4 Vista machines I was upgrading. It blue screened during the 3rd part of the install. I was able to get the system back on my own via a restore point in safe mode.
It ended up needing a repair/upgrade install from my Vista DVD. But it did work, and the support was timely and useful.
