Details have been released on the next batch of patches that will be released next tuesday by Microsoft for its Windows operating system and Microsoft brand softwares.
One of them is a fix on Internet Explorer and it affects Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and Server 2003. It is about an exploit in DirectX on Internet Explorer versions 5.01 and higher.
A different patch will be about Server 2008. It fixes a hole that lets an attacker elevate their privilege or cause a denial of service event.
As usual, a new version of Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool will also be available. All of the patches can be downloaded by various means including the Windows Update function and on the Download Center website.

In addition to the IE patch look for fixes involving Active Directory,Windows Internet Name Service (WINS), Pragmatic General Multicast (PGM) protocol DirectX, and Bluetooth.
