A report has been released that Microsoft plans to release a patch for a bug that exists in Office 2003 SP3.

The bug does not allow users to open some of the files that they made using the different applications in Office 2003 such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel after applying the third service pack patch.

There is no definite date on when they will release the patch. The Register notes that the fix will be a link that users can click on so that the registry of their PCs will be modified to allow them to open their files again.
