The first step is making sure that Boot Camp is installed on a fresh NTFS partition. Next is to get everything up to date by using Software Update on Mac OS X. This step includes upgrading a user’s OS to version 10.6.2.
Boot Camp Assistant will prompt the user whether he or she wants to create or remove a Windows partition. The author suggests that users should use this option instead of ‘Start the Windows installer.’

I have Windows 7 on my Macbook right now with no problems at all. If fact its pretty snappy.
I wanted a 80gb partition for my W7, and I actually had to defrag my mac using software called iDeFrag. I had to do it after Boot Camp Assistant told me that it was unable to partition the hard drive because it was too fragmented.
