Steve Cherubino from Podnutz.com invited me on his show again to talk about recent computer repair jobs and the computer repair business in general. We have two different shows for you to listen to.

In the first one we talk about:

  • A recent job with a lady who had a broken printer and wanted to get it repaired rather than replaced even though it was only a $50 printer
  • An interesting virus that stopped all internet access once I removed it
  • Facebook Viruses and who they target
  • Trying to open a certain laptop
  • Plus a bunch of call-ins from the computer repair community..

Listen to it here: http://www.podnutz.com/pnd184

In the second one we talk about:

  • A recent job where a 2GB Outlook database was too large even though Office 2007 has a 20GB limit
  • Windows XP “N Version” (the version Microsoft released in Europe to evade fines for being anti-competitive) and the email and browser options
  • A mistake of mine – My network tester set off a smoke alarm
  • My return from China and the internet censorship over there
  • Plus a bunch of call-ins from the computer repair community..

Steve covers a lot of topics relevant to computer technicians and releases a new podcast episode about once or twice a week so be sure to subscribe to his RSS feed. If you use iTunes you can also subscribe that way. Its a great way to keep up to date with new tools and ideas in this industry.

I’m listening right now. Very interesting topics. I’m interested in hearing about the network tester.

  • Adan says:

I didn’t know about this kind of tech talks. I’m going to start listening to them. I’m trying to expand my knowledge as a computer technician.

  • Teknyka says:

Podnutz is one of the best tech podcasts out there! Some other ones geared towards computer technicians are the Mike Tech Show and Tech-Vets. They all provide priceless information.

  • PC Repair says:

Thanks guys for the podcasts. In fact, I recently had someone bring in a laptop with virus that stopped all internet connections. It’s becoming very common to see these sort of nasty computer problems.

At least its nice to have a listen to podcasts and I definitely recommend it to anyone reading this, and how to deal with this sort of issue.

  • Annony says:

Thanks Teknyka for the other Podcasts to look our for.
