by Lee

Sophos has added new functionality in their Application Control software. Now, administrators can disable the games that comes with Windows XP such as Solitaire and 3D Pinball. It can also block MSN Gaming Zone games such as Internet Backgammon and Internet Hearts.

Why is this a big deal? A survey was given to system administrators and the results show that 90% wants to block the games and 62% thinks this feature is essential.

The software was originally launched in September of 2006 and it became a popular utility for system administrators.

The other games that are blocked are FreeCell, Minesweeper, and Hearts. Most of the games in XP have been around since Windows 95.
