Sears’ Spyware Software

by Lee

The Register has posted an article about Sears’ ComScore software which says that it collects private information from users who use the software.

Sears notified its users that the software “monitors all of the internet behavior that occurs on the computer on which you install the application, including…filling a shopping basket, completing an application form, or checking your…personal financial or health information.” However, this warning is located on page 10 of a 54-page document.

It was first reported by Benjamin Googins and then it was reported again by Ben Edelman.
