The Register reports that the site for OpenOffice went offline due to an “unprecedented demand” for the product.
The technical teams are “trying to come up with a resolution” according to organizers who released a statement today. Their site let people know other sites where they can download the office suite.
The message that was shown to visitors when the site went offline was “The requested URL could not be retrieved. The following error was encountered: Connection Failed. The remote host or network may be down. Please try the request again.”
The new features in this version includes the ability to open .docx files and a new Start Centre.
