The next version of Microsoft Office, version 2010, will be released next year. The office software suite will be sent to manufacturers during the first half of 2010 and it will take four to six months until the package will be available to consumers according to the article at Google.
Industry watchers expected a new version this year but Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, announced two months ago that it is not the case.

Wow thats some news. Awaiting eagerly for 2010 version
I’am still using microsoft office 2002. For me no point to upgrade the microsoft office as long as my old office still working because myself not a heavy microsoft office user.
2007 still works fine for me. My wife still uses 2003 and it works great for her. I really see no reason for this upgrade unless there are some hidden anti-piracy bits hidden in it….hmmm.
