Office 2007 File Format

Macworld has reported that documents from Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint are not compatible with the Mac when they are saved under the Windows operating system using Office 2007. The extensions of the file formats are .docx .xlsx, and .pptx.

They also reported that users who use Office 2003 in Windows can open Office 2007 documents which are saved in Windows by using a compatibility pack.

Novell promised that it will support Office 2007 so users that use their OpenOffice suite can view and edit the Office 2007 documents.
