Apple has re-released their iTunes 8 software which include a fix for “the blue screen of death” error that may occur on Windows Vista systems.
Ed Bott, a Windows blogger, notes that Apple just switched the usbaapl.sys and usbaapl64.sys files to the July iTunes update to fix this error.
Apple did not change the version number of the new iTunes version so it is still labeled iTunes 8. “God, what a disaster: Now we have two different versions of software and drivers that have the same version number!” said “Pirx07″ in Apple’s message boards.
