Hows Our Driving?

Its been almost a year and a half since I last asked what you think of the site and where I can improve. As a webmaster, I love hearing any feedback from our readers so that I can keep on doing what I am doing right, implement any suggestions you guys have and stop doing the stuff you hate.

So, Hows our driving? What do you love about the site? What do you hate about the site? Got an idea or a suggestion?. Comments are open as always, you don’t need to sign up to make a comment and you can even post anonymously if you like.

    I just found your site about 2 weeks ago and love it. For the most part you deal with and talk about the now not the future tech but the stuff people own now that has problems so we can fix it. Now I check your site before HardOCP, Arstechnica and all the other tech blogs. Funny thing is I really haven’t had the time to dive into the forum but I am sure I’ll be just as impressed with it as I am the site. Keep up the great work!

    Also just found your website this week !!!Great website!!! Love the contend helps a lot to deal with everything from Technical to Biz. I would like to see some subcategories on your menu for example “Computer Repair Tools and under that different tools in different categories as well on your Biz side maybe have it broken down in categories like sales, marketing…” also maybe have a section where readers can suggest their favourite technical and business software, tools and websites that can be rated and reviewed and then listed in a top 10 list. Keep up the great work!!!!

    I really enjoy your website. Informative as always. I agree with the comments above about there being more vidcasts, a print button too. I would like to see more videos of the products you talk about being recorded as they are being used. Keep up the good work!!

    I discovered this site about six months ago and love it. The forums taught me some really great useful info and even some useless junk :). The articles are great. The computer repair kit is excellent. I use it so much. Bruce, keep up the good work!

    I discovered you about 3 weeks ago. I LOVE your site. I find your own experience(s) fascinating and I really appreciate you sharing what you have learned. I D/L ed the repair kit just before you had to pull it. It is absolutely excellent and just what I had been searching for. Let’s hope you can repost it. The pictures of your tools was great. I agree the video podcasts are super, especially the process of manually removing a virus. What a way to learn. Plan to get involved in the forums now (hopefully contribute more) as I am making a late career change from software to hardware. Please sir may we have more.

    Very useful site with great articles. As for design simplicity is a must. Not to graphical, I don’t want to be looking at the same Nav Picture Background over and over… Readability is great. Font style is good and easy to read. Excellent job on the site though.

    I discovered this site about 3 months ago and get onto it about 6 times a week for hours at a time.

    Someone in the forum asked about setting up a technibble IRC chat channel. It would be great to have something like this for real time interaction among like-minded techs.

    Alternatively you might consider adding a chat feature to your most excellent web site.

    I’m enjoying this site immensely!

    Found out about it a couple months ago. I’m a UK based technician , been doing this about 7 years now. I’m not learning anything new from this site, as I’ve learnt for myself over the years everything you discuss. But that’s not the point. It’s nice to read your articles and see my own journeys contained within. Pretty much everything you say I agree with, hearing you discuss how you charge, how you deal with customers, how you deal with marketing, the mistakes you’ve made and the successes – it’s like a mirror on my own career.

    I’m at a stumbling block in what I do, I really need to expand and really don’t know where to turn. I’ve a lot of issues with getting somebody else in, not least where do i find them, and the whole trust issue. Maybe you’ve reached the same crossroads and would like to share your thoughts on it sometime ?

    Best of luck Bryce. I’ll keep reading hoping you can solve that final piece in my puzzle :)

    Love the site! Looks like I missed your “repair kit” I have been looking for a set of tools to get me started again, have been out of the hands on for over 5 years so would be great to have a starter kit to look at. Reading over the above comments you have a good group that rely on your service. Keep up the great work.

    I really like your articles concerning your experiences at work, such as the recent ones on marketing for your services and how you outlined how you communicate with your tech-challenged clients.

    I also enjoy the software recommendations; sometimes I already use them and when you agree, I feel as though it adds credibility to yourself. When I am completely unaware, then its like finding a new tool to get things done.

    The news flashes are good, as they are current and relevant.

    I think you do a wonderful job. I am just a beginner on computers (other than forums and a page).
    And I had a suppose friend hack me (after almost 2 years knowing them–charming person). Never gave my password–he just knew a lot. And I knew so little.
    I get lots of advise here–hard to know who to listen too. And who to trust. And not much is free advise. I’m not here to hook-up (sometimes that seems usual too on the net)
    This computer was used by many so a lot of garbage on it too.
    I came across your site. And starting reading more and more–been very helpful to me. I always worked with animals( animal and people science) so have little experience with computers.

    But now that I have been here would love to be able to do more with computers on my own. And perhaps help others with theirs too.

    Of course I would like to see more for people like me who aren’t in the know like many here are but would like to learn. The basic kits and programs. I’m sure there are others just like me who don’t know or have in their life someone who knows computers well.

    Hi Bryce. I have been a quiet user of your site for about a year now. My opinion is keep it simple. Its great the way it is. Keep to the original intent of the site. There’ll always be demands to take it one way or the other. I too was lucky enough to get the toolkit. I agree that the podcasts have been great. Small incremental changes are preferable for me. Youve found a niche, keep it up.

    Great Site, Like many others have said I would appreciate more of your video tutorials. I also enjoy reading your stories about different situations that you have had to deal with.

    Maybe for the tutorials you can walk us through how to use each of the tools in the toolkit.

    I have enjoyed this site so much since I stumbled in six months ago. Having started my own Tech business in Dec 08 I have really found Technibble a great resource of inspiration and a wealth of info that has proven to be the right stuff at the right time.
    Thanks for the business kit as it has become a part of my every day life. “community” best describes what Technibble is.

    This website has really been an insperation to me, and made me think that, with a little help, you can go a long way and that’s exactly what you are providing people with, you should be proud of yourself :). As a 16 year old it is hard to get any jobs because of the stereotypical image of a teenager popping into one anothers heads however you have supplied me with great help the really motivated me and increased my motivation to get out there and work for a living.

    Like others here I found your site over a year ago. This site is really so helpfull and very imformative. You deal with the issues of today. You talk to us techs about improtant things like how to advertise, talking to clients, showing us where the great free tools are, and so more..

    I JUST found this site yesterday and will be going through it still for a few more days im guessing.

    1. Content: GREAT! keep it comming

    2. Navigation: ok. maybe help me find a list of resources where i can then click and read the review? (maybe this exists im new) or a category type selection where i can find a type of support. (EX: click networking tools and it has a list of not only downloads but the articles and reviews of the servies and topics found in different places on this site)

    3. Cosmetics: simple site layout – looks good.

    I’ve been working as a computer technician for 8 years and never before had I found a site so useful and so focused in the small computer business. All the information relating to business and tools has been of great use for me. Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge with us computer technicians around the world.
    As a side note, I use firefox as my browser and your page is in my bookmarks toolbar, so your new icon looks great with the smart bookmarks add-on.

    Great job with the site, I love the newsletter and your free software guide especially and this site is always my first stop for computer related questions. The simplicity of the site layout and the concise advice and answers are very refreshing. The video tutorials sound like a great idea.

    Being a “non-tech” on a tech oriented site there are many topics that are far above my head, but for the love of God please DO NOT change the site content just to appeal to a larger demographic. There are plenty of sites for the average user with the average issues. I need a site that will give me solutions to more serious and in depth issues that, most importantly being a non-tech, I can trust. So i peruse your website gleaning a little info here, a little there, and have learned far more than I have from any other site I’ve come across, including when to say no when a friend asks me to look at their computer.
