Knowing what drivers you need:
Before we can go downloading drivers we need to know what our video card actually is, to do this we are going to use a free tool called Aida32 which can be found here:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download181.html

Once you have downloaded and extracted Aida32, run the Aida32.exe file to launch the application.

Upon running Aida32 there will be a list down the left hand side. Click Double-Click “Display” and choose “PCI / AGP Video”. In the window on the right hand side it will tell you what your video card is, in this case mine is a “nVIDIA GeForce4 Ti4800SE”.

Getting the Video Drivers from the manufacturers website
Luckily for me my video card is very mainstream and shouldn’t be too hard to find the driver for. Since my video card is made by nVidia it makes sense to look on the nVidia site (http://www.nvidia.com) first. No matter what brand your videocard is, the steps should be similar. If you cannot your video card creator’s website I recommend going to the website http://www.driverguide.com and searching for them.

On the nVidia site there is a link up the top called “Download Drivers” which most video card manufacturers have in their menus somewhere. I clicked it and was asked to choose what my video card is which we now know thanks to Aida32.

In the first box I chose “Graphics Driver” since that is what I am after, in the second box I chose “GeForce and TNT2” as my video card is part of the GeForce series (but not a “Geforce Go 7800 GTX”). In the third box I chose Windows XP as that is my current operating system, then pressed “GO!” which took me to the download.
