So I've been working in IT for quite a while and i've been an analyst/engineer at a large Non Profit organization for the past couple years. From what I've seen is that there's little or no chance in getting a raise at the organization or advancing there. I've been searching on and off for jobs, but the market is iffy.
I was thinking of trying set up my own company and offer a "concierge infosec service" to SMBs and private customers with requirements to secure their home office systems and stuff like social media accounts.
I've been active in the security community and I've got the whole alphabet of various certifications that are relevant. I was just wondering if anyone has tried offering such a service, and other tips. Like common ticketing systems (Atera maybe?), remote management software that's commonly used, should I use a service like Ring Central or just a work phone number? Any comments and suggestions are welcome
