Good info. I used to use manufacturer websites when installing drivers, but after I discovered Snappy Driver Origin Installer (http://www.snappy-driver-installer.org/) whose author is a member of TN, I rarely need to use them anymore as SDI handles about 98+% of my driver needs.

Edit: replaced link to the old SDI with the link to the new SDI-Origin

No, no, no, no, NO! This was good advice a year ago, but things have changed.

The current community-blessed version is Snappy Driver Origin, maintained by our very own @glennd, and guaranteed not to be full of adware and other poisonous content, unlike the original.

The good one is at https://sourceforge.net/projects/snappy-driver-installer-origin/

It's very powerful but like any powerful tool should be used with care.

I'm well aware of Origin ... it's what I was referring to. Excuse me for not being explicit.

Edit: I see the reason for the misunderstanding, I inadvertently posted the link to the old SDI instead of Origin. I've edited the original post to point to Origin.
