Which is the best one for you??
Mitac, Acer, Sony, LG, Packard Bell or other (I don't remember more)... Ignore the main title, I don't know why it entered that. Last edited by hwang; 03-01-2006 at 08:10 AM. |

Heck, the components are more or less the same, and you can get them cheaper than usual. Sometimes you can get high quality parts for half as much money (q.v. people suggesting DFI LanParty MBOs, which are extremely good, but a Gigabyte K8N-series might do just as well for at least half of the computers).
If you want a cool case, find someone who has a power drill, a power sander and knows their way around aluminium and/or plexiglass. It's cheaper and can yield much better results. |

I'm not sure, as to I only buy computers every few years. (Fully that is.)
The computer I'm using now is an HP, I built it through them, and it's actually very nice. They're customer service is good, and the computer is perfect. The only times I've ever had problems with it, it was my fault, haha. The only thing bad about it is, they block the core files of the registry and such to protect from users doing something dumb. Though I can get around that. |

In Canada, I like MDG. They have good prices, good computers, and the support is good. I could buy a computer there for the same price of building one.

Always come out better building it yourself but if you must buy a brand, i like gateway. Dell sucks major + they out source tech support.

I used to hate Dells becuase I only played with the consumer models but the more recent Optiplex and Latitudes are very nice. Yeah outsourced Tech support unless you buy thier service plans. Bottom line is they most all fail just as much as the other now I think perhaps the parts manufacturers have become more on par with each other then that the PC manufacturers have.

Everyone seems to have their own opinion. I personally have had a lot of luck with Acers lately. Solid laptops for good prices.
