Default Research paper help!

Ahh! okay, I have a research paper due for school but I have no idea what my topic should be. It's open topic so it can be about anything but it has to be argumentative. In other words I have to have an opinion about something and then back my opinion with credible sources.

I wanted to do something computer based, and I thought that internet addiction was a good topic, however I find it hard to find good sources and I don't have access to a public library at the moment since they close before I get off of work and weekends are full as well.

If I had a solid topic or argument I could probably find enough sources ( I need atleast ten sources to make the grade) Its a pain in the arse really. but I have 9000usd in student loans that will be made payable immediately if I dont pass, and this is my last assignment for the semester.

thanks yall!

If it were me, I think I would write something about the proposed governmental control of content and access to the internet. This is a pretty hot topic. Should governments control who has access to the internet and what people can see and do out there? Or should it remain free and open?

Windows vs. Mac always starts some good arguments here. Tons of resources online. I feel for you because I know what you're going through because I went to college for several years. Here's a nice little site for MLA documentation for your works cited page: http://www.easybib.com/cite/view

Not to sound cliche but if you need an A and lots of information and something that can be argued, ......

Wait remember I SAID I KNOW ITS CLICHE! but legalizing drugs, legalizing marijuana, legalizing prostitution. Same Sex marriage. Socialism, Immigration. Taxing the rich. Healthcare reform (or some use socialized to give it a mental bias). Pick a side and run with it.

I also realize you wanted something that was computer based but that can be a boring topic that many outsiders don't really care about... Your professor could become bored. However those other topics can ignite a debate and there is no shortage of information or opinions. When It comes to school I take the fastest honest option.

I also like the idea of Windows VS MAC debate seems like there would be a ton of information.

I would suggest also the Windows VS Mac topic. Very hot topic right now with Windows 7 being released soon and Snow Leopard.

I would write a paper about the Cybersecurity Act and how its real effect will not be to secure government networks, but to make security more expensive and to give the government the legal right to analyze internet data from private networks.

@ACG - Juggling Work, school, marraige, home matters, a side gig repairing computers, and BS'ing with techs on a web forum can take up a pretty good time of your day. mainly the work, school, and marraige part. writing a research paper is just extremely tedious and time consuming. If they had given a topic to begin with I dont think I would have taken even half as long. I appreciate the post though, I actually tried to find enough sources to write a paper on it but to no avail. Thanks!

@ Everyone

Hello everyone and thank you for your opinions, I appreciate all of you.
While all of you had great topics, I chose to go with Hondablasters idea of going the easy route.
I found that for most of the suggestions, I either had no knowledge there-of or no real honest opinion.

I chose to go with the topic of sexual education in schools.

answering the question "Which sexual education program is more beneficial to students, Abstinence only or practicing safe sex?"

My thesis is "A combination of abstinence education and safe sex education is more beneficial to adolescent students than teaching abstinence alone."

again thank you all for your help.

The key to any opinion based paper, which most are, is bullshit lots of it and with a nice bow on it for presentation so people can smell it. I almost had to right one about a concept I thought about doing time or concept itself.

sounds confusing. your right though a lot of BS. Buy my topic is something I really think strongly about. My bro-in-law is sexually active at 15. I was at 16.
Luckily i had a big brother figure to tell me about condoms and safe sex and thats why i've been drilling into his skull since he was 13. now a days its not about stopping it from happening, its about making sure you protect yourself and your partner. I read a statistic stating that out of all the STD's reported each year in the US the majority are teenagers. prostitutes account for less than 10%
