Ok....I'll start with my disclaimer...Do not work on Macs, can squeak my way around and that's about it.
System: Mac OS 10.5.7 Leopard Mail?: Entourage 2004 This problem apparently just started. When he gets mail if it has a .pdf attachment it won't open but it shows the file in the email. If it's a .jpg it might open on the screen in the "preview" windows about a quarter of the way. He said he is not positive if he just did an update of the 10.5.7 or not. Any clues? Thks |

Preview is the default pdf viewer which is a part of OSX. It doesn't sound like Entourage is the culprit. What I would do first is download some generic pdfs from the web or whereever and then try to open them and see what happens. Its possible the 10.5.7 update might have hosed out Preview? I haven't heard of any issues like that with the 10.5.7 update, but it wouldn't surprise me

I was told this:
Entourage 2004 was designed to run on a Power PC Processor and this is a quad core intel xeon so they should be running entourage 2008 |

That's cool. Provided everything is working with Preview than the upgrade to 2008 should fix it. There's probably a way to get 2004 to work if they don't want to upgrade. I'm running Office 2004 on an intel core 2 duo processor right now, but I haven't messed around with pdfs and jpgs in entourage to see how they opened.

What's wrong with Mac Mail.app???? Works like a charm for me....with zero issues!
BTW - Did move Entourage to render html emails in "Word", like they did with the latest Window's version of Outlook. I've heard it renders like the 1999! lol. hehe...check this out: http://fixoutlook.org/ |
