tree style tabs
If he can use firefox, addon tree style tabs, for better tab managment. If not I 2nd the 2 screens.

I would go with the Veritron model and add on a big LCD. You may also want to throw 2 gb more ram in there. I do this all the time. DDR 2 is cheaper than dirt.
