well its that time again when your old kit becomes old and tiresome and it needs a good clean up, and to be brought back up to speed with the rest of the world,

well ive put it off long enough and now im going to get it done.
ive picked up some extras for my kit like

any one see room for improvement, maybe i should add or remove stuff maybe i need a better case.

Are you going in to fix computers or fight in an intergalactic warfare?

It's an extensive list but far more than you'll ever need and many of the tools you include are duplicated. Remember you're going on site to resolve the computer problems the customer could not resolve themselves, not to demonstrate an extensive knowledge of all things geeky. I really don't see why you'll need such things as Winamp, VLC and a zillion memory sticks/DVDs/CDs/Floppys/carrier pigeons.

Keep things focused and you'll look far more professional, 95% of everything I need is carried in a single briefcase, the other 5% of my toolkit is carried in two distinct toolcases in the car. In fact 94.5% of everything I typically need is carried in a single USB stick on my keyring, my PDA/phone or in my head.

Whatever you carry, don't forget it needs to be maintained and kept updated, you'll directly earn no money for that chore, so it's prudent to keep it simple.

i have serious issues with not wanting to be unprepared but i supsose some of it is a little bit extensve although it looks like much it aint that much to carry as i mentioned one small troley case

If you carry or try to use too much stuff you will be unprepared no matter how hard you try. Nobody can ever carry around everything they might possibly need, that's where your personal presentation and communication skills will be most important. Your customers will expect you to describe what you've done and why you've done it, terminology such as "aint that much" is not language that would inspire many with confidence.

Sorry, but it's a tough world out there and customers will chew you up unless you are totally confident in yourself.
