I see complaints about avg. Joe users coming here asking for help. Well why not make the "tech's/Business Owners" forums "private" and have an open users discussion forum.
New users must "introduce" themselves then request access to the private forums. just a thought.

No, that would suggest we have something to hide.
Making the site a subscription only and even a recognised professional body would make more sense. |

That would ruin the whole concept of the site.
Im starting out, i dont know it all. I dont even have an actual shop yet. People are here to learn. Some people are here to just get their info in leave. We just need to watch out for the ones that dont give back to the forum and weed them out. |

Subscription only will definitely kill the site. It's not unusual on other sites to restrict access to certain parts of the forums to members with a certain (no necessarily v. high) post count. I'm not saying it definitely a good idea, merely that it's been done successfully before.
