Just wondering how many of you out there set bios passwords on your machines.
personally i wouldnt bother it just seems pointless to me. however i read alot how people try and sell off stolen laptops and get stumped with bios passwords. i think personally with bios passwords each time ive seen it the customer didnt even know they had one set or just accidently set a pass.

Only on laptops. It's pointless on desktops.

Nope, I've never set a BIOS password. I just truecrypt a hidden partition on my laptop hard drive with all my work documents, mp3s and install files on. Even if they do find the partition, I know my data is safe.

I've never bothered to set a BIOS password, i guess that since im the only one that uses it, i dont need one. |
