Newspaper Advertising does it work ?

Hey All, for a while now I've been pondering with an idea that I have and that is to place an advert in my local newspaper to see what kind of response i get,
although i cannot drive i had an idea that if i get tons of phone calls for my service I was gonna temporary higher myself a driver to take me to the call outs.

Of course once i pass my test i can drive myself to call outs, at the moment i'm in local booklets and shop windows but worked has dropped like a stone in a pond.

Has advertising in newspapers worked for you ? what kind of wording would you use e.t.c ? i do have a black and white ad that i use for the local advertising booklets but i wanted your input on it.

do you have a yellow pages telephone book add ?

Advertising does work ,but that depends on how you use it

I was going to pick out wording from my current adverts but I dont think it will be that good so thats why I posted to get some ideas, no i dont have a yellow pages advert because when they did contact me i told them i cannot drive so it would be a waste of time.

hmmm I cannot think of any wording for a newspaper advert maybe i could just use my shop window one as the wording on that is to the point but its kinda big.

newspaper ads work for me. i basically just put a business card in there. There are several pc repair places in town, but i'm the only one with ad in paper.

I put an ad in one of my local monthly papers, it cost me $90 for 2 towns of coverage.I figured if I can get 1 or 2 customers it'd pay for itself. I got Zero calls

I'm debating on spreading some flyers around the local condos

Newspaper ad cost 80 a month. covers about 6 towns. As long as i keep hitting x amount of dollars a month, i will keep putting in newspaper ads. my results were almost instant

I used to run a plain text ad in the classifieds every week - cost me about €30 p.w. and brought me loads of business. I only stopped running it because I stopped chasing domestic clients. I'm thinking of starting it again since things slowed down.

I hope it works for me then I still haven't done anything about it because i'm not sure if it will work or not but now i think i need to try it to see.
