Another good reason for concealed carry... not to spark a debate on that issue.

6 year olds and 9 year olds at a midnight screening??? Really???

That's why you pull a "Shepard" and go for the knees.

Back on topic, that's really terrible I heard it on the radio this morning, but only caught the end of it because the volume was down.

Also with the kids at the midnight release...thats why i go to the Alamo draft house, no one under 18 allowed.

Not really an issue since it's summer vacation and the kids aren't in school.

Just makes me sad. Just wish someone was carrying in that audience. Someone is doing that, aim for every part of his body. Head Shot wins.

Just have a sickening feeling in my stomach now. Cant get the fact that he shot a baby at point blank range.

Awful tragedy....terribly sad.

The guy clearly wanted to take out as many as possible....walk to the front of a movie theater, turn around and face the audience...they're all packed tightly in rows that ascend upwards...even a blind person can get > 50% hit ratio in that circumstance.

All those talking about someone that carries...being able to shoot him in the legs, that's the movies folks..doesn't happen in the real world. (no pun intended about "movies" and "movie theater")
*You don't know he's wearing kevlar
*You're under duress/panic
*He's a moving target
*Anyone trained in hand held firearms knows it's "double tap...center mass."
*Headshots or taking out the knees are for rifles (and Unreal Tournament ) with time to aim. To hit someone in the head, while he's standing in a plume of smoke...and he's moving around, and you're ducking the spray of bullets he's letting lose...you going to stand up for a few seconds and stick out like the last pin standing at a bowling alley?

Side note...
A 3 month old? And a 6 year old? At a midnight screening? This means they're up until at least past 2am. Summer break or not...just wrong. Wrong type of crowd at midnight audiences to expose little kiddies to. Not to mention you as a parent are going to spend the next 3-4 days trying to get them back on a normal sleep schedule.

On the plus side Colorado is a capital punishment state. I just wish it was a bit more like the early part of the century - shooter is clearly guilty - don't give a rats ass if he had a bad childhood or whatever be done with him the morning following trial.
