OneClick Remote Support Tool

I just found this support tool based on UVNCs Single Click program, however this one has the added benefit of working properly with Vista aswell as automatic reconnection if the program crashes or if your reboot the client's computer (including in safe mode!). It runs as a service, so the software automatically connects to you even at the windows logon screen, allowing you to login to a user account.

On top of that it uses encryption, you can password protect it, add custom Hello and Goodbye messages, custom splash screens, a custom toolbox, a session timer (tracked across multiple reboots).

Have a play with the non-commercial version to see what you think. I just purchased the commercial license as I was really impressed with it

Not that $100 is a fortune, but in this economy if you can save it - all the better.

I assume you are moving from SC-UVNC, since this is what's showing on your web site. Why the change - is it the ability to run as a service - some other feature or a combination?

Lots of reasons really. But mainly, it's my customer's inability to follow my simple instructions over the phone (e.g. how to boot into safe mode). I think the single click program idea is brilliant and this takes it one step further by allowing me more control over their computer and it means I don't have to rely on them as much. It's still shocking how long it takes some of them to load up SC-VNC!

I'm also hoping to do alot more of my repair work over the internet as it means I can provide instant support, I'm not away from the office so I can do other work at the same time or answer the phone and I don't spend money running my car/bike.

Having password protection is great as it stops people randomly downloading my software and attempting to connect to my machine! That happens a surprising amount (I have the listener running in the background all the time). I realise I could zip it and password protect it instead, but I really want to stick to the single click concept.

No way. At some point, it just makes sense to fork it over and move on. I was close a couple of weeks ago and then started messing with SC.
