I had to share this with you all.
A long time customer came in Thursday with a dead notebook. We quickly diagnosed it as it had a big crack on the bottom. Once open, we saw the motherboard had taken its share of damage. Rather than pay to fix a 5 year old machine, she opted for a nice new latitude. Overkill, I know, but that's what she wanted. We called her this afternoon to let her know her new toy was in and ready for her to pick up. While the tech was showing her the features of her new machine, the lady kept saying how she still couldn't figure out what happened with her old one. She had never dropped it. About that time her 5-year-old son pops up and asks if he will be able to play his games on it. His mother said, "Sure you will. Do you want to see it?" She hands her 5-year-old her brand new $1,200 notebook. He promptly deposits it on our concrete floor. ![]() Turning red, she says, "Well, that's one mystery solved!". Her replacement machine will be here Wednesday. This time she opted for the accidental damage protection.

She didn't have the accidental damage on it. She had to order a brand new one, on which she purchased the damage protection.
