Following the advice of some TN'ers, I'm trying to work the rocket into my logo.


Here is my current logo:


I was thinking of changing the "R" to something like this:



Someone close to me said it kind of looks like a you know what. What do you think?

Too funny! That would be perfect if you were in another line of work.

Maybe add some flames to the back to help sell the rocket look. Or just leave well enough alone.

I dont like the new one for your logo, and I dont know what it "looks like"

Personally I don't get Rocket from Rockit. Homophones, yes. Homonyms, no.

Until this thread I always thought of "Rocking I.T.", as in mastering IT, controlling IT, etc. A spaceship never crossed my mind. But then I'm not really an imaginative person.

When I have computer problems I'd rather "know a guy" who can ROCK I.T. instead of knowing a spaceship guy.

So remove the rocket from the website? In it's place I shall add a picture of Keith Emerson's modular synthesizer.

I guess my thinking behind the whole rocket thing was the speed aspect. Also, it goes well with my blog, rockitman. The name was of course inspired by Elton John. Maybe Rock It and Rocket are more similar than we think!

Out of curiosity, roughly what percentage of your customers misspell "rockit" when you say the name to them and they need to write it down (say to write a check for example)? What percentage of the people you come across pronounce your name Rock I T Computer Solutions?

Good question! To be honest, the business is only a few months old, so I don't have too much data to pull from. I haven't had anyone misspell the name, but I have had a few Rock I T sayers.

I worried that once I start placing radio adds, people would spell the website wrong. So I also purchased rockETcomputersolutions.com and rockEToxford.com.

Good idea. I like the newly revised logo the best.
