Win 7 Licenses for £15?

A company I work with says he can get genuine MS Windows 7 Keys for about £10 - £15. He says they come straight from Microsoft in America and is reselling them on his website. He has offered me a bulk deal. A local Computer shop is also getting them from him and has been selling them to customers for a while. Can this be true? Anyone any experience of this?

Sorry but I don't think that is legit, licences for that kind of price just can't be kosher. Best thing would be to contact MS and verify it with them. Personally I wouldn't risk it.

+1 to this. Microsoft holds a monopoly. So why would they offer a deep discount if there is no (perceived) alternative? In fact, if a competitor is getting them and reselling... you might wanna pass along that info to Microsoft, and law enforcement, if your business ethics allow it.

I guess they are just selling corporate OEM keys. Completely illegal and the computer shop selling them can get into serious trouble for it.

What is the website?
Are they Retail licences?

Microsoft do offer deep discounts to certain consumers. They engage in differential pricing - different groups of consumers pay different prices.
For example students, and people on low incomes buying refurbished PCs from a Microsoft Registered Refurbisher, often get good discounts.

Schools and universities may get a good deal since Microsoft are afraid of losing the upcoming generation to Linux.

I think that was his name. He'd been around for a few months before he started touting his software license sales site. Let's just say the prices were too good to be true.
