We love Malwarebytes pro. We install MSE and sell each client a Malwarebytes Pro, and we usually don't see that client again for a Virus Removal. Works like a charm

How good is the realtime component of mbam?

Malwarebytes Pro includes an IP Blocker. This feature has worked great for me because it protects my customers from going to bad sites - - usually from hijacks or e-mail scams.

I have noticed that a few times Malwarebytes Pro did not detect an infection until I ran a scan even though the infection was indeed active. This supports the notion that the real-time scanning is not very effective.

Unless something has changed, the free version does not include scheduling of updates or scans.
