Default MAC in a windows workgroup?

Will it work? Is is easy to add to the workgroup?

I read that article and it's a bit more complicated than it needs to be.

On my MAC's I did it this way:

1. Open System Preferences
2. Click on Network
3. Click on Advanced button (lower right part of window)
4. Click on WINS tab
5. fill in the Workgroup field with your workgroup name
6. Click OK

In time (as the workgroup gets updated that your MAC is in it), you will see a list of the other workgroup systems on the left side of the Finder window under the Shared section.

When you connect to each shared PC, you will start as Guest, but use the Connect As... button (Upper right part of Finder window) to give the proper credentials if you have any passwords set in the PC.

This procedure is MUCH simpler than the one from Tech Republic...
